Human factors engineering applies the science of human capabilities and limitations to the design of products, systems, and work environments. Its aim is simple: make technology fit the people who use it.

UX Rescue
Project lead- When it fits
- A system is quietly draining your bottom line through lost productivity, turnover, errors, or lost customers, and no one has been able to say exactly why.
- What you get
- I diagnose the root causes through user research, staff interviews, and usability testing. Then I redesign the workflow around what the evidence shows. Instead of guesses, you get recommendations and prototypes backed by evidence.

- A defined project with agreed goals and a fixed price.
Design Partner
Embedded team member- When it fits
- You’re designing a new product or service, and no one on your team has the human factors or UX training to catch problems before it ships.
- What you get
- I join your design team as its human factors expert. I evaluate proposed interfaces, review prototypes, and flag human-performance problems while they’re still cheap to fix. Where I find issues, I recommend the specific changes needed.
- How we work together
- Part-time, for the length of your project.
Independent Senior Advisor
Advisor- When it fits
- You need senior human factors and UX judgment now and then, but not enough to justify a full-time hire or an agency retainer.
- What you get
- A few hours of advisory time each month for design questions, focused reviews, or a rapid usability gut-check. You get senior-level insight directly from me, without paying for a team you don’t need.
About Dr. Fracker
Four decades of fitting technology to people
Dr. Martin Fracker brings more than four decades of experience to every engagement. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering psychology from the University of Illinois, spent about 20 years with the U.S. Air Force, and about 20 years at IBM before launching his independent practice.
That range, from military systems to enterprise software, means he has seen how people interact with technology in nearly every kind of setting. He helps teams find where their designs work against the people who use them, and fix it before those problems become costly.
